This project involved the construction of a custom-designed granny flat attached to the existing garage at the rear of the property.

The build focused on creating a functional, light-filled space within a compact footprint, while working around existing site constraints. A raked ceiling, rising from 2.4m to 3.9m, enhances the sense of space and openness throughout the main living area.

Highlight windows above the French doors were carefully positioned to capture northern sunlight, bringing natural light into the home and improving overall liveability.

One of the key challenges was installing a compliant firewall along the existing garage boundary, with only 300mm of working space available. This required careful planning and precise execution to meet all building requirements without compromising the quality of the build.

The project features a range of considered finishes that enhance both functionality and appearance, with attention to detail evident throughout.
